ID Released For Driver, 55, Killed In Crash At Northampton County Intersection (Update)

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as Mark Allen Beers, of Nazareth. His death was caused by blunt force trauma and ruled as an accident, Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek said.

A 55-year-old driver was killed in a crash at a Northampton County intersection before dawn on Monday, Oct. 31, state police confirmed.

The crash occurred at the intersection of North Walnut and East Northampton Streets in Bath Borough just before 5 a.m., a public information release said.

A Kia Forte driver was heading north on Route 512 when it struck an eastbound Dodge Ram, the release said.

The Forte driver was not wearing a seatbelt during the collision, according to the release.

The Nazareth driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Identity was being withheld pending family notification.

The Ram driver, a 37-year-old Bath resident, was uninjured.

Assisting agencies include the Northampton County Coroner, Borough of Bath Fire Department, Klecknersville Rangers, Troop M Collision Analysis Reconstruction Unit, and the Troop M Forensic Services Unit.
